Coffman Family Reunion 2011

The 2011 Coffman Family Reunion will be held on Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6.   We will gather at the Coffman Family Shelterhouse on highway V, about 7 miles from Winigan, MO.  On Friday we will start gathering at around 5:30 and will eat our usual brats on the grill.  Please bring a covered dish or dessert to share!  I would also suggest bringing a lawn chair, too.  On Saturday, we will start the festivities at around noon and will probably eat at around 12:30 or so.   Again, bring your favorite covered dish (meat or side dish) or dessert to share.  We will not have a silent or live auction this year, but we will have a raffle for a pre-stamped queen size quilt and two shams that were donated by Chris, Gerry, and Caroline.  Raffle tickets will be $5 each or 3 for $12.   Proceeds from the raffle will go to the shelter house fund and will cover costs related to upkeep, as well as flowers/gifts for family or friends that have passed away.   Please come and join us!!!

The 2010 Coffman Family Reunion is now in the history books.  There were 26 in attendance on Friday night and 63 in attendance on Saturday.  The weather was cooperative....the temperature under the Coffman Family shelter house on the hilltop of Mommy and Poppy's property was in the upper 80's.  We ate wonderful food......bratwurst and calico beans from Lorna Coffman, blackberry cobbler from Josephine (Coffman Baker) Yardley, brisket, corn-on-the-cob, and peach cobbler from Darlene (Coffman) Yeo, chocolate chip cookies and turtle cake from Geraldine (Coffman) Lessly, dirt cake, deviled eggs, cucumbers, rice crispy treats, and homemade bread with plum butter from Sheila (Sherman) Druffel (childhood friend of Chris Ann Lessly's).....and the list could go on.    First time attenders were Caroline Lessly (daughter of Chris Ann Lessly, g-daughter of Geraldine Lessly), Maci Glidewell (daughter of Jennifer (Buell) Glidewell, g-daughter of John Buell, gg-daughter of Marva Buell, ggg-daughter of the late Freddie and Neva Coffman), and Hunter Buell (son of Jason and Faithe Buell, g-son of Marva Buell, gg-son of the late Freddie and Neva Coffman).    We should never take our immediate and extended families for granted.  We do something special that many families don't do......we gather once a year to re-connect, to catch up, to fellowship.  We create new family memories for the young family members.   It is SO important that we create those memories for the young Coffman family members!!   See everyone next year.
